Literacy Skills

For the week of 2/8/10:

All students should be reading an AR book and take the appropriate quiz when finished. In-class on Monday and Friday we will have silent sustained reading (SSR).

Two nights per week they need to complete a reflection on their weekend reading reflection log. Parents should sign this sheet after it is complete. It is due every Wednesday and worth 15 points.

In-class we are reading Ruby in the Smoke by Phillip Pullman. Each student has been given a copy of this book and they are required to bring it to class. We will read between 5 chapters per week. Read "through chapter 13 of Ruby in the Smoke by 2/9.

Monday 2/8: SSR/AR. Read silently or take AR quizzes in the library.

Tuesday 2/9: Read "through chapter 18 of Ruby in the Smoke by 2/17. Work on character worksheet (this stays in the classroom). ISAT practice readings.

Wednesday 2/10: ISAT practice readings. WRR due today.

Thursday 2/11: ISAT practice readings.

Friday 2/12: SSR/AR. Read silently or take AR quizzes in the library.

Science Homework

Monday 2/8: Tides packet. Complete through page #121 up to #15. Stop

Tuesday 2/9: Finish packet.

Wednesday 2/10: Go over packet. Quiz on Thursday over tides and crater vocabulary.

Thursday 2/11: Quiz. Start ecology unit. No homework.

Friday 2/12: Blubber lab?
